Bent finally pulled off someplace east of Pittsburgh. Gina took the keys but said she had to take a pee. She scrambled up a slope into the woods, found some cover and squatted down.
And then things got shaky for her again. The pressure was back on inside her. She thought about Bent and about what they were doing. She felt the weight of the keys in her hand. She could get up and throw them into the brush and they could try to walk away. There was time.
But as she was standing, a breeze stirred the trees and the moonlight fell on something near her feet. She looked down at the thing there and her throat squeezed shut.
