Huntington Beach, CA, December 2, 1998.
Detectives reported the bodies of two Huntington Beach High School Varsity Football Players were found near the pilings of the Huntington Beach pier early this morning. The bodies of Jason Lanning and Kurt Anaka were dressed in t-shirts and Levi's. There was no sign of violence or foul play. Cause of death was not given. The discovery of the bodies comes a week after the youths were first reported missing by their families. The parents of Jason Lanning have alleged that their son's disappearance was related to "mall voodoo" that originated at the Bet Your Life store in the Huntington Mall owned by Annabelle Thompson. Mr. Lanning held a news conference to announce his intent to get to the bottom of the issue. Headline News.
