About The New River
Welcome to The New River, a journal of digital writing and art. When founded by Edward Falco with help from Len Hatfield in 1996, The New River was the first journal devoted exclusively to digital writing and art.
The New River posts new issues twice a year in December and May, and is currently hosted by Virginia Tech’s Collaboratory for Digital Discourse and Culture.
The New River has been selected by the Electronic Literature Organization for inclusion in the Library of Congress’s Internet Archive Project. The Library of Congress will now provide a link to The New River and periodically crawl our site to stay updated. The purpose of the project is to archive significant sites for future generations.
